We haven't run hands-on tests yet, so this page compares prices and plans only.
Looking for a HeyGen alternative? Compare Synthesia, Colossyan, Vidnoz, Elai, invideo and more by avatars, free plan and use case.
"Cheaper" in the title is not a measured saving. It is the reason people search. The checked reasons to look past HeyGen are narrower: the free plan is 3 videos a month, Creator is $29 or $24 on annual billing, and license terms are unconfirmed. A substitute has to be judged on its own checked row, not on a percent off HeyGen.
Seven names follow. Four stay in avatars. invideo AI and Pictory are text-to-video, useful if the real problem was never an avatar. ElevenLabs is voice only. It does not replace a face on camera.
Scan free tier and starting price before opening a block. Vidnoz and Pictory show Not confirmed in both money cells. That omission is the check, not a forgotten column.

Closest avatar neighbor. Free Basic plan checked. Starter is $29 a month or $18 on annual billing, which is the lower annual entry next to HeyGen's $24. No test says the avatars are interchangeable.

Synthesia

Lowest paid plan: $29/mo (Starter)
Annual billing: $18/mo
Avatar product with a higher checked annual price: Professional at $59 a month. Free plan and free trial are checked. Starter price omitted. Useful when the constraint is not the lowest entry fee.

Colossyan

Lowest paid plan: Not confirmed
Annual billing: $59/mo (Professional)
Named as an avatar alternative because it is in the same job group. The row is not confirmed on the vendor's site, so no promo price is shown. There is no vendor figure to compare with HeyGen's $29.
Often used for AI avatar video
Vidnoz
on Vidnoz's website
Lowest paid plan: Not confirmed
Annual billing: Not confirmed
Checked Creator price is $29 a month or $23 on annual billing, close to HeyGen's annual $24. The free plan is checked as 1 minute, which is a different unit from HeyGen's 3 videos. Do not treat 1 minute and 3 videos as the same generosity.

Elai

Lowest paid plan: $29/mo (Creator)
Annual billing: $23/mo
Not an avatar substitute. It is here for readers who discovered they needed a script-to-video tool. Checked price: $15 per seat a month on annual billing, or $30 monthly. Free tier not confirmed, so it is not a free HeyGen replacement on this page.

Lowest paid plan: $30/mo
Annual billing: $15/seat/mo
Also text-to-video, and not confirmed on the vendor's site. Price and trial stay off the card. It is listed so the set of seven matches the outline, not because a number can be compared with HeyGen.

Pictory

Lowest paid plan: Not confirmed

Voice, not a face. Starter is $6 a month, about $5 on annual billing, with a free plan checked. Pair it with an avatar tool if the gap is the soundtrack. It does not render a presenter.
Often used for Voiceover
ElevenLabs

Lowest paid plan: $6/mo (Starter)
Annual billing: about $5/mo
Stay inside avatars if the frame must be a person: Synthesia, Colossyan, Vidnoz, or Elai. Leave the avatar tools if the job was a script or a voice. Ignore any alternative whose price cell says Not confirmed when the decision is about money. HeyGen's own plan note remains the baseline at 3 free videos and Creator at $29 or $24 annually.
Synthesia is the closest checked avatar on price shape. Colossyan is the higher annual Professional price at $59. Elai matches the monthly $29 entry with a 1-minute free plan. Vidnoz has no printed price.
Checked free avatar lines in this set are Synthesia Basic, Colossyan's free plan and trial, and Elai at 1 minute. HeyGen itself is 3 videos a month. Vidnoz is not confirmed. Free does not mean a commercial license.
On this page the avatar names beside Synthesia are HeyGen, Colossyan, Vidnoz, and Elai. HeyGen's annual Creator price is $24 against Synthesia's $18 Starter. Colossyan's checked annual Professional price is $59. Vidnoz is unpriced here.
We only show a price we could confirm on the vendor's site on the date shown.
