How we test tools

What a future hands-on session will record. No session is published in this version.

Nothing here is a finished test

This page is the protocol, not a lab notebook. No tool on StackKeel has a published hands-on session, a timed export, or a scored rubric. Until that changes, product pages keep the pending label and do not grow a numeric rating.

Reading a vendor's pricing page is a data check. It is not a test of the product. A checked price can sit beside a hollow star without contradiction.

What a session will record

A video session will start from a fixed script, note the length cap on the free quota, record whether an export adds a watermark, and copy the commercial-use sentence from the vendor's own terms. It will not grade "cinematic" as a feeling. It will list the languages the product actually offered in that session.

A writing session will run one shared brief through the tool, keep the output, and note whether the trial asked for a card. It will not declare a winner on taste.

A trading session will not place a live order and will not report a profit. It will record whether a journal imported a file the reviewer supplied, and whether a charting tool could save an alert. Any claim about future returns stays out of the notes.

When a test can replace the hollow stars

A test can replace the pending label only after the notes and the captures are public on this site and the method on this page still matches the session. Until then the stars stay empty on purpose.
